Are you a fan of classic rock, modern rock, blues, jazz, country, alternative, classical, reggae, rap, hip-hop, or folk music? Then this is the event for you!
Come to the Record Fair at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre on Sunday, November 5, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to physically get your hands on the music that has been a dear friend to you over the years.
This is my favorite bi-annual event of the year. So much good music, all in one place.
The St. Augustine Record Fair has over 30 music vendors from across the Southeastern United States that sell used and new vinyl records, CDs, cassettes, posters, turntable equipment and supplies, memorabilia, collectibles and more.
If you cherish and collect music, this event will be like walking into a music heaven.
The beauty of the record fair is that you can find nearly any type of music here, from virtually any decade. The variety that the fair offers is broad and seemingly endless. No discrimination here, you can find music from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s, and beyond. Used and new. There is a treasure here for everyone to find. The prices range from a mere $1 per record, mid-range prices from $5-10, and even all the way up to $100+ if you come across a rare pressing or valued piece of memorabilia. Yet, some of the greatest finds are in the $1 to $10 price range.
It’s the best bargain around when it comes to purchasing music.
Flipping through vinyl bins to find a record has always been like going on a magical Easter egg hunt for me. I’m usually looking for a specific album to add to my record collection, but invariably, I will come across a rare piece of art that I didn’t expect to find. It’s a special feeling. Almost therapeutic. You work for what you find, and once you find it, that feeling is like no other.
For those looking forward to perusing a record store, finding what they want, unwrapping the plastic, taking a dedicated moment to listen to music, reading the “Thank You” section and admiring the artwork, vinyl provides an unmatched and intimate experience. – Jordan Passman, Forbes Magazine “Vinyl Sales Aren’t Dead: The ‘New’ Billion Dollar Music Business”
I’m a huge fan of classic rock from the 70s. I often think to myself how I wish I could have been born in the 60’s, so I could’ve experienced first-hand the authentic singer/songwriter era of the 70’s. The Record Fair and ToneVendor allow me to feel like I’ve traveled back in time. Afterwards, I’m sent home with a piece of magic from another generation, thanks to this event bringing together multiple vendors to blend the old-school and modern music worlds.
This event is Free and Kid Friendly. DJ sets by Ancient Deep will take place throughout the day. There will be food and beverages provided by on-site local food trucks and the Amphitheatre concessions.
Fun activities for the entire family will include a jump rope making booth hosted by St. Augustine Makers Fest, arts and crafts hosted by the St. Johns County Public Library System’s Anastasia Island Branch, face painting and more. The OneBlood Bus will also be onsite and patrons who donate blood will be entered to win free concert tickets. (source)
