The Crave Food Truck In Saint Augustine Was A Feast For The Eyes On Every Level
About two weeks ago, on our Instagram feed, we started following the Crave Food Truck of Saint Augustine. And them being the fine, upstanding folks that they are followed us right back. Everything I know about cooking I learned on The Food Network, so needless to say I am a huge fan of real deal food trucks. So we put Crave on the list of spots to check out, and today we checked them out.
I was not prepared for what happened next.
Their address is listed as 134 Riberia Street in the historic district. When we moved here back in 2011, this area was a virtual no-man’s land of dilapidated warehouse buildings and abandoned factories. But the launching of The Ice Plant, a very cool vintage restaurant and bar in an old ice plant, changed the landscape forever. Over the last few years the whole area around the San Sebastian Marina got a new lease on life. The Crave Food Truck sits at the heart of the inlet, and this is what I saw as I pulled in.

I nearly fell out of my Jeep, I was so impressed with the surroundings. Here was this gleaming, amazing super-cool looking food truck, and it was parked the end edge of the water with picnic table seating for its patrons. I felt like I was back on a Hollywood set in my actings days. It was just…perfect.

My first point of contact was the lovely Daria in the front window. She helped me to navigate the menu of salads, smoothies and wraps. I settled on a grilled chicken wrap bursting with veggies and a tart dijon vinaigrette. It was amazing and almost more than I could finish. I highly advise that you go to Crave with a full appetite, they are not stingy with the portion size. I sat in the open-air seating at the water’s edge, and engaged a few of the regulars in conversation. They had nothing but raves and positives to tell me.

Crave is owned and operated by Andres Guardiola and his fiancee Renee Spadaro, and they are two of the nicest people you could ever want to meet. So plan a day to visit the Old City of Saint Augustine, and please put the Crave Food Truck on your list of places to visit. Not only will you have fresh, delicious healthy food for lunch, sitting by the water’s edge is as romantic a venue as you could wish for. You can check out their menu here.
We will come here again…soon.

I wish that I lived in St. Augustine to try the food from the “Crave food truck.” Then I thought to send them gas money so they can bring their great looking food to me. 🙂
