Grooving On Gourmet Popsicles At The Hyppo Can Be Quite Addicting

You gotta love a place whose motto is ‘Eat Fruit’, and I do

I remember quite well the first time I wandered into to the Hyppo on Saint George Street. “$3.50 for a popsicle!”, I exclaimed, “there is no way I am spending that much on a popsicle”. But the longer I tarried in front of the quietly humming banks of glass-topped freezers, seeing row after row of neatly stacked popsicles, my determination to walk about vanished…so I plunked down my money for a Coconut gourmet popsicle. Dipped in chocolate. I watched as the girl behind the counter unwrapped, dunked, and rewrapped my pop and handed it to me with all the love and care of a maternity nurse handing over a newborn.

I took a bite and was immediately smitten. Now when friends come to town to visit, the Hyppo is one of the first places I take them. I’m sure it’s funny to watch me show them the place like I own it, but that’s how you feel about a Hyppo Pop.

Interesting Anecdote: Hyppo had an anniversary celebration last year of being in business for 5 years. To give back, they were handing out their very first pop for free. I was very excited to go get one until I realized that the first flavor they ever had was Cucumber Jalapeno. “Hmm”, I thought, “so much for that”. But my daughter Kelsey, who is so much braver than I am, insisted we get one and guess what?

Yeah, it was awesome.

Well, what are you waiting for? Go get one! If you are not local, you can click here to order a box of 27 Hyppo Popsicles right now.
