The Floridian Classic Southern Dining

The Floridian Classic Southern Dining

The Breakdown

With inside and outside seating. the restaurant is deceivingly large. The nights I went it was packed with happy, satisfied diners. All-star Southern classics like Fried Green Tomatoes, Biscuits and Jelly, and something called Not Your Mamma's Meatloaf Sandwich make for a very interesting menu.
Cleanliness 95%
Friendliness 95%
Deliciousness 100%
Classic southern comfort food menu, with some new twists on old favorites. Portions were quite large so you better bring your appetite.
We sat outside when we ate so I did not get the chance to check out the inside much.

Comfort food taken to a new level

OK, I won’t make you wait, I’ll get right to it. I had the Summertime Fried Chicken Sandwich that was out of this world. It was made up of, and I quote,  “Citrus-herb marinated chicken breast, fried and stacked on ciabatta with lemon aioli and a summer ‘slaw’ of lightly pickled green beans, carrots and cabbage tossed with gingered buttermilk herb, and a drizzle of hot-sauce honey. Wowza. Served with choice of roasted potatoes OR a tossed salad with fancy slaw, pecans, house ricotta and peaches.”

Yowza. And you know it was almost more than I could finish. Portions at The Floridian are very generous. The whole place had a very laid-back vibe, with some people showing up dressed quite nicely, and others (like yours truly) looking like they just came off the beach. Everyone seemed right at home.

I enjoyed it so much I came back a week later and had the meatloaf. That I was unable to finish, but it was amazing.
