Erected in 1888, the majestic Casa Monica hotel is a member of the National Trust Historic Hotels of America.
In a city like Saint Augustine that is replete with shimmering jewels, the sumptuous Casa Monica Hotel shines the brightest. Though I have yet to stay there as a guest, I have been in and through their massive and magnificent grand lobby many times. There you will find amazing art galleries, boutiques, gourmet coffee and pastry shops, as well as a restaurant and hotel bar.
Sometimes, on a hot day, I will stop in to sit, enjoy the complimentary fruit-infused iced water and people watch. Superlatives don’t do this place justice, you have to come and see it for yourself. The Casa Monica is not only a luxury resort and spa, it also is a great place to have a wedding, and has well laid out meeting rooms for corporate functions. And the amazing thing is that while it’s not cheap to stay here, it’s not crazy expensive either. You can book a beautiful room on Kayak for under $200 per night.
