Old City Market is one of Anastasia Island’s newest eateries located about a mile east of the Bridge of Lions.
Old City Market is owned by local St. Augustine residents, Tim and Catherine Bucolo. The Bucolo’s are passionate people with a mission to serve the most fresh and authentic burgers, grinders, salads, soups, and bowls to their community. Their menu items are influenced by English and Spanish colonial, Minorcan, and Native American cuisine.
They use ethically raised proteins, and serve only the freshest seafood and produce to their customers.
Old City Market’s goal is to offer a flawlessly executed and carefully curated selection of meals, based on what is locally available, all in a zero-waste environment. Everything, down to their cups, plates, utensils and napkins are 100% recyclable.
Their mission is to serve real food responsibly. They commit to maintaining the integrity and cultural influences of their menu. Not only are they ethical and passionate with their food, but they are kind and friendly, too!
Now let me tell you about the amazing meal that I ordered.
Old City Market specializes in their burgers and grinders, so I ordered a grinder named The Cumberland which is char-grilled chicken, arugula, tomato, crispy chorizo, fried egg and avocado aioli placed on a soft, white baguette-style roll, alongside a delicious container of seasonal fresh fruit…in an eco-friendly container to boot!
Their fruit of the day was freshly cut strawberries, pineapple, and grapes. It was amazing. I left the restaurant feeling full and refreshed, ready to accomplish the rest of my day with a smile on my face. I will definitely return.
So the next time you’re cruising down A1A on the island, stop by Old City Market to say hi to Tim and Catherine and try one of their amazing grinders!
